A small, loving cat hotel by the coast in IJmuiden. Two dedicated suites, daily care, and photos & videos via WhatsApp every day — so you can travel with complete peace of mind.
We are Akemy and Mitchel — a couple who fell head over heels for cats in 2020. Starting in Haarlem and moving to beautiful IJmuiden aan Zee, we created two dedicated suites. And so Miauw Aan Zee was born: a home where cats are spoiled with love, structure and good vibes.
Each suite is designed with comfort, safety and enrichment in mind. Your cat gets their own dedicated space — fully furnished and cleaned daily.
Elke dag sturen we foto's en video's via WhatsApp. Genoeg tijd weg, met een gerust hart! Every day we send photos and videos via WhatsApp. Enjoy your time away with complete peace of mind!

Real, verified reviews from cat parents who booked Akemy & Mitchel through Rover.
“We had a fantastic experience with Akemy and her partner! Both of them are knowledgeable and highly appreciative of cats, themselves being owners of cats as well. Our outdoor cat adapted quite fast to her new conditions and she had a great time during her stay. Akemy goes the extra mile to accommodate all the needs any cat could have, it's no wonder our own had enjoyed her stay. We also had regular status reports with pictures during our cats stay, so we always knew how she was doing. We highly recommend their service!”
“Akemy is a lovely catsitter for our two cats. This is the second time we asked here, because she makes me feel a little better about going on holiday. When she sends me pictures (she sends pictures and little video's everyday) I see happy cats that play with her and look content.”
“Super caring, thoughtful, reliable, neat, flexible, trustworthy, reassuring. All cat owners and cat wish-boxes are ticked. I came home to a happy cat, thanking me for bringing Akemy and Mitchell into our lives.”
“Great cat carers, sent me videos and photos and my cat is really relaxed and happy on my return, she was so well looked after. Highly recommend and I hope to be able to use again next time I need to.”
